Gardner Police say the man involved in the Tuesday morning crash at 175th Street and Interstate 35 has died as a result of his injuries received in the crash.Police have identified the man as, 49-year-old, Edward Joseph Jasperse of Gardner, Kansas. Authorities say Jasperse succumbed to his injuries late Tuesday afternoon.
The accident remains under investigation by the Gardner Police Department.

A 49-year-old, Gardner man was critically injured in a single vehicle accident this morning near Interstate 35.Gardner Police say they were called to the 175th Street bridge over Interstate 35 at 8:02 a.m. on a single vehicle accident. Officers arrived at 8:05 to find one vehicle with heavy damage after colliding with the westbound concrete jersey barrier of the bridge.
Investigators say the vehicle was traveling eastbound on 175th Street over Interstate when, for unknown reasons, veered across oncoming lanes crashed into the jersey barrier.
Firefighters from Johnson County Fire District No. 1 responded to the scene and reported one person was pinned inside the heavily damaged vehicle and would require "extensive extrication". Crews worked for nearly 20 minutes to extricate the injured man from the vehicle.
A LifeFlight Eagle helicopter was requested to respond to the scene but, was later canceled and the man was transported to an area Trauma Center by Johnson County Med-Act.
No other information has been released at this time. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office is assisting with the investigation according to a news release from the Gardner Police Department.
